Namrata Kohli in an exclusive conversation with Madan Paliwal

Q) How was the Statue of Belief conceived in the first place, and how come a Shiva statue in what is essentially a Krishna Nagri of Nathdwara?

A) The idea for the Statue of Belief was born from a desire to showcase the deep connection      between Shree Nath Ji (Hari) and Shiva (Har). Nathdwara, already blessed by the presence     of Shree Nath Ji, felt like the perfect place to celebrate this divine bond. The image of Shiva     coming to Nathdwara to meet Shree Nath Ji and then peacefully sitting in meditation on a         hillock captures this special spiritual connection. This statue signifies more than just being     the tallest Shiva statue; it’s about sharing this beautiful relationship with the world.

Q)  Any story behind the choice of making this in a unique meditative pose of Lord             Shiva?

A)   We chose a meditative and joyful pose for Lord Shiva to embody the peace and                       happiness he experienced upon meeting Krishna. This pose symbolizes a serene and              blissful  state, representing the fulfillment of a divine purpose. It truly reflects the essence       of Nathdwara, a haven of devotion and tranquility.

Q) I understand the Statue of Belief is the tallest Shiva statue in the world at 369 feet. Who created this statue, what kinds of materials were used, and how much time has it taken to make this?

A) Creating the Statue of Belief was a wonderful journey that took over ten years, involving the     talented hands of more than 750 artisans and engineers. Matu Ram Arts converted this             vision into reality, with Shapoorji Pallonji overseeing the construction. We used high-tensile     steel and self-compacting concrete to ensure its durability for over 250 years, even in the         face of major earthquakes. Miraj Group made sure to keep the project proudly "Made in         India," by only using local expertise and resources to bring this shiva statue to life.

Q) The 32 acres of the Statue of Belief has a theme and so many adventure activities. Which is the most popular activity and favored zone?

A) Visitors love our Nijatma Abhishek at 351 ft, and several other activities. The light and             sound show, in particular, has touched many hearts with its spiritual storytelling. It’s                 wonderful to see people of all ages finding joy and peace here.

 Q) The sound and light show at the Statue of Belief is narrated by you. What kind of          content and stories are shared, and who are the technology partners?

A)  Stories like Bramhand Darshan, Kaamdahan, Rudrashtak, Maharaas, and Shabd Utpatti         share deep spiritual lessons meant to inspire faith and good living. Using special Barco             projectors, we've created a visually amazing and uplifting experience that touches the             hearts of everyone who comes to see it.

Q)  What kind of footfalls does this place attract, and what has been the response since        its opening in 2022?

A)  Since opening in 2022, more than 20 lakh people have visited, mostly from Gujarat,                  Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The response has been heartwarming,          with visitors coming for both adventure and a deeper spiritual experience.

Q)  Miraj Group is also building a stadium in Nathdwara. What is the purpose of this         project, and what kind of games will be held there?

A)   The stadium aims to promote sports and provide a stage for local talent. It’s part of our           commitment to fostering a strong sports culture in Nathdwara, inspiring young people to           dream big and achieve their goals.

 Q)     When will the stadium be inaugurated, and what is the first event scheduled             here?

A)     The stadium is planned to be inaugrated in the first half of this year. The first event is                going to be a cricket event.

Q)      What are some of the CSR activities the Miraj Group has been engaged in?

A)     At Miraj Group, our CSR initiatives reflect our dedication to community welfare. We’ve             pledged to plant 1 crore trees, aiming to foster a greener environment. Our ultra-modern         kitchen namely Annakshetra, provides free meals to thousands daily, ensuring no one             goes hungry. To support wildlife and rural communities, we’ve built water tanks in jungles            and arid areas and send water tankers to villages during summer. We’ve also beautified            cities like Nathdwara and Udaipur with gardens and circles, and equipped government             hospitals in Churu and Nathdwara to better serve the public.

Q)     What has been the overall role of the Miraj Group in creating employment                         opportunities for the people in Nathdwara?

A)     Projects like the Statue of Belief and the upcoming stadium have boosted tourism,                     creating jobs for many—from local vendors to hotel owners. Through our diverse                     ventures—pipes and fittings, printing, FMCG, cinemas, and more—we’ve created                     numerous job opportunities, helping uplift the region .

Gwalior is in Guinness: Tansen Sangeet Samaroh 2024 By Namrata Kohli History was created at the centenary celebration of the “Tansen Sangeet Samaroh 2024” at Gwalior where a musical ensemble entered the Guinness Book of World Records. The Tansen music festival was hosted by the UNESCO City of Music, Gwalior in its hundredth edition from 15-19 December 2024, in the backdrop of the historic Gwalior Fort and Tansen Tomb. Why The Heck Not? DLF’s KP Singh Book Sharing His Blueprint For Success

By Namrata Kohli “Before KP took over an almost dormant DLF at the behest of his wife Indira and sister-in-law Prem, he knew nothing about real estate – zero!” This may sound unbelievable but that’s the absolute truth about a man who is credited with turnaround of Gurugram and setting the gold standard for luxury real estate in India. K.P. Singh’s book “Why the heck not?” is an interesting account of his life’s journey where co-author Aparna Jain variously describes him as “a forever learner”, a “one man army”. His blueprint for success? Shares KP  Singh- "I believe every opportunity is like a train standing on a platform. The train’s door opens for a short while, either you get in or when the door closes the train leaves. Opportunity comes to every human being, it is your smartness how to quickly find out yes or no and then grab it before somebody else grabs it.  Every person should know when opportunity comes. T herefore I say, why the heck not?" Co-author Aparna ...
